Happy Friday!
I am sending my card over the the Color Hues The Color Challenge blog today for their newest challenge which is to use Gold and Cream
I decided to go old school for my background paper. I used the Brutus Monroe Vintage Tapestry embossing folder on Bazzill card stock to get a very soft textured background. I fell in love with it immediately.
I knew right away how I wanted to incorporate gold into my design when I saw this challenge. I die cut quite a few Detail Elm Leaves from Simon Says Stamp and ran my embossing ink just over the ends of each leaf. Then I used gold embossing powder to get the bright, shiny gold. I made a leaf cluster which I arranged around the Etched Eucalyptus Wreath also from SSS. I added pearls from my stash and my sentiment and decided I was done.
THEN I had second thoughts...yup that happens. So I made a second much simpler card using some of the same supplies. Then I decided this card was alright after all. Next Friday I will show you my second card and also send it over to the challenge.
I'll be back tomorrow and I'll see you then!
Susie
This is so pretty Susie! I love who the tips of the flowers are trimmed in gold! Looking forward to seeing your other card too! Thanks for playing with us at Color Hues!
