A Play Cook Top for the Grandkids
Happy Saturday!
My friend Vicki Chrisman had a post not too long ago about making a play cook top from a plastic storage box. All of the utensils, pots and pans, play food etc. live IN THE BOX. How clever is that? She said she saw it on Pinterest, but I saw it on her blog,This Art That Makes Me Happy, so I am giving her the credit. I finally got mine completed and I love it. I don't have lots of toys at my house anymore....so things like this are ideal.
These two kiddos are living through a total kitchen gut and remodel at their house so they have been spending lots of extra time with Grandma and Grandpa while the workmen do their thing. I was sure they would enjoy this for many visits to come.
I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the four burners and four knobs. I alternated the black and red vinyl on my circles. I've been collecting some kitchen items for the box, but added quite a few more today from the Dollar Tree. The three of us shopped for utensils and cookware today, but they didn't know why until they came into my house.
The big one also got a play money drawer, so he decided he would sell some of the cooking items to the smaller chef. It held their attention for more than an hour, so I call that a WIN.
I just thought I'd share this clever idea and also an adorable picture of these two boys. I'm sure I will need more cookware and play food when ALL the grandchildren come over to play!
See you tomorrow!
Susie
