Happy Thanksgiving



I am excited to share this project with you because it is my entry into this week's The Shabby Tea Room challenge.  I was thrilled to find out yesterday that I was chosen as one of their Tea Time Terrific Top Three in last week's challenge.  But as soon as I saw the #1 winner, I KNEW I had to step up my game this week.

This picture just reminded me of a cold New England day with hot cider waiting inside for us.

To start my project, I headed straight for the garage.  I bought this green wooden basket years ago and I just happened to have some fall decorations nearby.  So I pinched off a few leaves, sticks and do dads and headed to my studio to create.

I lined the basket with a piece of Webster's Pages paper and then started adhering the items I had gathered.  Of course I wanted to use dies too, so I took three pieces of felt and cut them with my MFT Stamps dies.  Roll, roll, roll, glue, glue, glue and I was done.

The little sign about cider was cut from a piece of Webster's Pages paper and mounted on chipboard.  Edges were distressed (of course).

I still thought it needed something, so I grabbed my PaperTrey Ink double ended banner die and cut out my title banner.  Then an easy choice - Joy's Life Stamps - for the sentiment.  The happy is from the Everyday Occasions Stamp Set and the Thanksgiving is from the Holiday Occasions Stamp Set. I used two brads on the banner, but I actually glued the banner to the basket making a bit of an arch for dimension.
