I know that I showed you my new Copic marker storage not too long ago. But I outgrew it within a week or so.
I had been thinking about a metal piece I had seen at Hobby Lobby – but it had drawers that were just a little too short for my markers. And then I had a light bulb moment – TAKE OUT THE DRAWERS!
So I drove to Hobby Lobby to see if it would work. I yanked out a drawer only to discover that each little cubicle had no floor to it. Hmmm…..how could I overcome that? Make a floor of course. I used really heavy black mat board cut to fit into each little slot. Double sided tape made sure the floors stay in place.
Here is a close up of the mat board in place and also what the drawers looked like.
I have already found some storage uses for the little drawers around my studio, so this is really a win-win situation. And I can grow into this system for sure. I have plenty of room to expand.
In case you are thinking of buying one of these, the price was $79.99, but I waited until they put their metal ware on sale for half price.
I hope this inspires you to either get out your markers and color or organize them so you CAN color next time you are in the mood.
I will be back tomorrow to show you a cute card made with a digital image.
See you then.
Susie
Susie, this is awesome but how do you travel with your Copics?
ReplyDeleteHi Christy:
ReplyDeleteThe only place I travel to really is Stolen Moments Inn - other than that I pretty much craft at home. So the three or four times a year I retreat, I just make do with the traveling part. I will probably wrap this baby up in a bag and hope for the best.
That is a great Copic solution! Such a beautiful cabinet. It is sad about Color Cubbies. I'm currently looking for just 2 more. :(
